Waste Removal Ruislip Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waste Removal Ruislip provides waste removal and waste collection services to domestic and commercial customers. By making a booking, accepting a quotation, or allowing our team to carry out any waste removal work, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Customer means the individual, company or organisation that books or receives the waste removal service.

Company, we, us and our mean Waste Removal Ruislip, the provider of waste removal and collection services.

Services means any waste collection, loading, transportation, clearance, disposal or associated work carried out by the Company.

Waste means the items, materials, rubbish, junk or refuse that the Customer instructs us to remove.

Contract means the agreement between the Customer and the Company, formed when a booking is confirmed by the Company.

2. Scope of Services

We provide waste removal and waste collection services for household, garden, office, construction and general non-hazardous waste. The exact scope of the Services will be as described in our quotation and booking confirmation.

We reserve the right to refuse to collect any waste that is unsafe to handle, prohibited by law, or classified as hazardous, including but not limited to asbestos, chemicals, solvents, biological waste, clinical waste, gas bottles, and certain electrical or electronic items when not compliant with applicable regulations.

All Services are provided subject to availability and within our operational service area. While we aim to serve local homes and businesses promptly, we do not guarantee collection on a specific date or time unless expressly agreed in writing.

3. Booking Process

3.1 The Customer may request a quotation and book Services by telephone or email. We may ask for details of the property access, type and approximate volume or weight of waste, and any particular items to be removed.

3.2 Any quotation is based on the information provided by the Customer. If on arrival the actual volume, weight, type or location of the waste differs from the information supplied, we may adjust the price accordingly or decline to provide the Services.

3.3 A booking is only confirmed once we have accepted the request, provided a confirmation, and agreed a date or time window for the waste collection. We may require a deposit or advance payment as a condition of confirming the booking.

3.4 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the booking details are accurate and complete, including the collection address, contact details, and any relevant access instructions. Changes to bookings are subject to our agreement and may result in a revised quotation.

4. Access and Customer Responsibilities

4.1 The Customer must ensure that suitable access is available for our team and vehicle at the agreed date and time. This includes providing any necessary entry codes, keys, parking permissions or permits, and ensuring that the access route is safe, clear and reasonably free of obstruction.

4.2 If we are unable to access the premises or the waste due to circumstances within the Customer's control, we may charge a call-out fee and any waiting time, and may treat the booking as cancelled by the Customer.

4.3 The Customer must ensure that the waste to be collected is clearly identified and separated from any items not intended for removal. We accept no responsibility for the removal of items that are mixed with waste or not clearly designated as items to be retained.

4.4 The Customer warrants that they are either the owner of the waste and the premises, or are authorised by the owner to arrange the Services. The Customer indemnifies us against any claim arising from the removal of waste where such authority was not in place.

5. Pricing and Quotations

5.1 Our prices are usually based on some or all of the following factors: the type of waste, estimated volume and weight, labour required for loading, access conditions, and any additional services requested.

5.2 Any quotation provided before the collection is an estimate only, based on the information supplied by the Customer. We may revise the price on site after assessing the actual waste, and will inform the Customer before proceeding.

5.3 Where Services are charged by volume, weight, time or load, we will explain the basis of our pricing at the time of booking or before commencing the work.

5.4 All prices are quoted in pounds sterling. Unless otherwise stated, prices include disposal charges and standard labour for loading the waste within reasonable time limits. Additional labour or waiting time may incur extra charges.

6. Payments

6.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. For most domestic waste collection services, payment is due on completion of the collection, unless we have agreed advance payment or alternative terms.

6.2 We reserve the right to request full or partial payment in advance, particularly for larger jobs or commercial waste removal contracts.

6.3 We may accept payment by cash, bank transfer or card, subject to the methods offered at the time of the Service. The Customer must ensure that cleared funds are available by the due date.

6.4 If the Customer fails to make payment when due, we may charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate and recover any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing the debt, including legal and collection costs.

6.5 Title to any items or materials removed passes to us only upon full payment of the agreed charges. Until payment is received, we reserve the right to recover the costs of any disposal or to reclaim materials where legally permissible.

7. Cancellations and Amendments

7.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by notifying us as early as reasonably possible. Because waste removal requires scheduling of vehicles and staff in the local area, short-notice cancellations may be subject to charges.

7.2 If the Customer cancels more than 24 hours before the scheduled collection time, no cancellation fee will normally apply, unless we have incurred non-refundable costs or agreed otherwise in writing.

7.3 If the Customer cancels less than 24 hours before the scheduled collection time, we may charge a cancellation fee up to a reasonable proportion of the quoted price to cover our costs.

7.4 If we arrive at the premises and are unable to carry out the Service due to the Customer's failure to provide access, to present the waste, or to comply with these Terms and Conditions, we may treat this as a late cancellation and charge a call-out or cancellation fee.

7.5 We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including vehicle breakdown, severe weather, staff illness, accidents, or unavoidable delays. In such cases we will offer an alternative time or a refund of any advance payment, but shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the delay or cancellation.

8. Performance of the Service

8.1 We will carry out the Services with reasonable care and skill, consistent with good industry practice for waste collection and disposal.

8.2 Our team will load the waste from the agreed area, which may include internal rooms, gardens, garages, driveways or commercial premises, provided that safe access is available.

8.3 We may, at our discretion, assist with moving items within the property in order to access the waste, but we are not obliged to undertake general removals or rearrangement of furniture or fittings not directly related to the waste collection.

8.4 Upon completion of the waste removal, we will make reasonable efforts to leave the collection area tidy, but we are not responsible for deep cleaning, repairs, or restoration of surfaces, fixtures or fittings.

9. Waste Regulations and Environmental Compliance

9.1 We operate in compliance with applicable UK waste management legislation and regulations, including any requirements for waste carrier registration, duty of care, and responsible transfer of waste to licensed facilities.

9.2 The Customer acknowledges that certain categories of waste may be subject to special handling, restrictions, or additional charges in order to meet legal and environmental requirements.

9.3 We will transport collected waste only to authorised sites for treatment, recycling, re-use or disposal, and will use reasonable endeavours to minimise landfill use where practicable.

9.4 If the Customer knowingly or unknowingly presents hazardous, prohibited or misdescribed waste as general waste, we may refuse to collect it, impose additional charges, or recover from the Customer any costs, penalties or liabilities arising from its handling or disposal.

9.5 The Customer remains responsible for ensuring that any confidential documents or data-bearing items contained in the waste are removed or rendered unreadable before collection, unless we have expressly agreed to provide a secure destruction service.

10. Liability and Limitations

10.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10.2 Subject to the above, we shall not be liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of anticipated savings arising out of or in connection with the Services or these Terms and Conditions.

10.3 Our total liability to the Customer in respect of any claim arising from the performance or non-performance of the Services shall be limited to the total charges paid or payable for the relevant Service, except where a different limit is required by law.

10.4 While our team will exercise reasonable care when working on the Customer's premises, minor scuffs, dust or disturbance to areas around the waste may occur. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or for damage that arises from inherent structural weakness, poor condition of walls, floors or fixtures, or unsafe access routes.

10.5 The Customer must notify us in writing of any alleged loss or damage as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 7 days of the date of the Service. We may inspect the premises and request evidence before considering any claim.

11. Insurance

11.1 We maintain public liability insurance suitable for a waste removal and collection business. Details of our insurance cover are available on request.

11.2 It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that their own property and contents insurance provides appropriate cover for any risks not accepted by us under these Terms and Conditions.

12. Complaints

12.1 If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, they should contact us promptly with details of the issue.

12.2 We will investigate any complaint in good faith and aim to respond within a reasonable timeframe. Where appropriate, we may offer to re-attend, rectify the issue, or provide a partial refund or other remedy at our discretion.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

13.1 We collect and process personal data such as names, addresses, contact details and service information only to the extent necessary to manage bookings, carry out Services, process payments and handle enquiries.

13.2 We will handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the UK and will not sell or disclose Customer data to third parties except where required to perform the Services, process payments, comply with legal obligations, or enforce our rights.

14. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

14.1 We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will apply to new bookings made after the date of the updated version.

14.2 The version of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of the booking will govern that Contract unless otherwise agreed in writing.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

15.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any Contract between the Customer and the Company, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

15.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services.

16. General Provisions

16.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16.2 No failure or delay by us in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.

16.3 The Customer may not assign or transfer any of their rights or obligations under these Terms and Conditions without our prior written consent. We may assign or subcontract our rights and obligations where reasonably necessary for the efficient performance of the Services.

16.4 These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation and booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any previous understandings or agreements, whether oral or written.
